Love Is Healing

SUPPORTING A FUTURE OF EQUITY AND JUSTICE FOR GIRLS OF COLOR

The LOVE IS HEALING Fund was created to address the immediate impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on girls and gender-expansive youth of color.

Launched in 2020, Love is Healing is our first grantmaking fund and aimed to provide grants to organizations directly supporting girls of color in the wake of multiple pandemics, including the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our funding priorities include: preventative or responsive health strategies (mental, physical, emotional); interventions to support institutionalized girls of color and survivors of gender-based violence; economic and educational response strategies explicitly focused on girls of color; COVID-19-related research and advocacy to document and elevate the needs and experiences of girls of color in the context of the pandemic and beyond, with a particular focus on strategies that engage girls in participatory research methods; and, strategies to protect the security of youth organizers working to dismantle systems of oppression.

GRANTS:

Through Love is Healing, we have funded over 170 diverse organizations across the country that focus on girls* of color. You can explore who we funded as of the summer 2021 in our annual report and also in our grantee list.
