Who we are
Grantmakers for Girls of Color (G4GC) is the primary national philanthropic intermediary organization with an explicit focus on girls, femmes and gender-expansive youth of Color in the U.S. and territories. We raise and mobilize resources to support the power and brilliance of girls and gender-expansive youth of Color.
We are continually exploring ways to advance advocacy for all girls and gender-expansive youth of Color, and we ensure that our overall strategy accounts for their specific experiences and needs in our various Initiatives.
Our Funds & Initiatives
Black Girl Freedom Fund
Along with the #1Billion4BlackGirls campaign, BGFF invests in the brain trust, innovation, health, safety, education, research & joy of Black girls, femmes and gender-expansive youth.
Love Is Healing
Our first fund, Love Is Healing, was launched in April 2020 to address the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. It has grown to continually serve and support all our communities, including many Asian and Pacific Islander (AAPI) serving organizations.
New Songs Rising Initiative
In partnership with the Seventh Generation Fund for Indigenous Peoples, NSRI resources work that centers and supports Indigenous girls and their intergenerational communities at the intersection of gender and economic justice, and supports their relationship to Earth.
Holding a Sister Initiative
In partnership with the Black Trans Fund, incubated at Groundswell, HASI is the first national fund explicitly dedicated to resourcing and uplifting trans girls and gender-expansive youth of Color, who are a catalytic force for racial and gender justice, and deserve abundant investment and support.
