Our special projects are where bold ideas meet urgent action — initiatives designed to meet the unique needs of girls and gender-expansive youth of color in real time. From innovative grantmaking pilots to storytelling campaigns and research collaborations, each project allows us to test new models, respond to emerging challenges, and amplify the leadership of young people shaping our collective future.

Pass The Mic Project
The Pass the Mic Project is a creative filmmaking project to amplify compelling participatory research and stories by girls, femmes, and youth of color from around the U.S. To date, G4GC has hosted nine filmmaking workshops, interviewed and filmed across five major cities, with participation from five grantee partners.
Pass the Mic Project is currently in its post-production editing phase! Soon we’ll share how you can watch and amplify this powerful, narrative-shifting project. You can learn more about the project and watch a sneak preview of the documentary at the link below.

Youth Advisory Councils
Through our Youth Advisory Councils, we are not just giving resources, we are also ceding power. Through our youth engagement model, our youth advisors influence our programs and communications, and serve as decision-makers in our grantmaking. G4GC’s youth advisory councils welcome girls and gender-expansive youth of color to have a say on where to best allocate resources through our funds.
