G4GC began as a convening space for funders and organizers who are committed to fostering abundance for girls of color in the U.S. Since 2016, we’ve come together to focus on issues facing girls and gender-expansive youth of Color. G4GC convenings have been a space for collaboration and to better provide resources to communities.
In 2020, when G4GC was established as an organization in the midst of a global pandemic, gatherings had taken a new form. In our first few years we adjusted our convenings to be primarily virtual. We also expanded our virtual events and created Black Girl Freedom Week, an annual celebration of Black girls and gender-expansive youth every February in collaboration with the #1Billion4BlackGirls campaign.
