Protect the Sacred, a NSRI grantee partner

New Songs Rising Initiative Grantee Partners

The New Songs Rising Initiative is a partnership between Grantmakers for Girls of Color and Seventh Generation Fund for Indigenous People’s Thriving Women’s Program. This initiative expands opportunities for Indigenous girls and gender-expansive youth through grantmaking, convening and community building, and mentorship and peer support, with a specific emphasis on Indigenous cultural work. The New Songs Rising Initiative aims to address the funding gap and resource Indigenous girls and their communities with abundance and intention.

We’re honored to have 10 incredible Indigenous girls and gender-expansive young people supporting the New Songs Rising Initiative (NSRI), a partnership with Seventh Generation Fund for Indigenous People’s.

The fellows meet virtually across an 18 month period, to build community and sense of self, celebrate Indigenous identity and belonging, expand their leadership skills, support a participatory grantmaking model, and influence the visioning of NSRI. More about the fellows to come.
