Convening

The deadline to register for the 2020 G4GC convening was January 17, 2020.
If you sign up for the waiting list, we will contact you if space opens up.

This year funders across the country will (re)imagine and begin practicing what the world can look like when Girls of Color have power and space to name what their existence looks like when they are safe, healthy and thriving.

We must strive to understand all of the connections and support spaces where there is room to learn, build solidarity and grow together. Toni Morrison once said, “If you find yourself in positions of trust and power, you must dream before you think.” Let’s dream up a future where all girls can live in dignity and power.

Together, alongside girl activists of all ages, we will step into the future – telling the story about philanthropy’s role in resourcing movements to create a new world for girls and their communities

–> The bus will now get you back to the hotel an hour later than previously planned, at 5pm.
–> Wear comfy clothes and shoes!

The Wednesday, February 26 bus tour will root us in NoLa by allowing participants to connect to the cultural roots of this pulsing city. From the perspective of grassroots justice oriented organizations, work centering Girls and Young Women of Color and the unique culture of NoLa, this guided bus tour will give you a lens into a New Orleans like no other. Along our stops we will kneel at sacred waters and pay homage to the city and our time here with land acknowledgement and ancestral recognition of the BIPOC folks of the area. Collectively, we will honor our own lianges that bring us to the moment in time by creating ritual together. We will stop at local organizations and significant locations of the city that uplift justice, progress or offer a historical context to the current New Orleans we are situated in.

Pick up and Drop off location at NOPSI Hotel. RSVP by February 7. Bus Tour will be first come, first serve.

Wednesday, February 26, Evening Reception:

The reception will begin at 7 pm at the New Orleans African Museum at 1418 Governor Nicholls St.

It will be an evening of connection, pleasure, celebration and the Future. This opening cocktail reception provides an opportunity to unwind, reconnect with each other and be catered to with good food and drinks, vibes, healing, and culture.

No RSVP is needed.
